When Emily reached out to tell me she and Brandon were expecting their first baby—and wanted me to help them share that joy with the world—I was truly so excited, but even more so, just honored. Emily and Brandon are brilliant photographers themselves and the coolest most stylish down to earth content creators, so being in line with their taste meant a lot to me. We’d met at a styled shoot years ago, so it felt full circle getting to do this for them, something so meaningful.

Em mentioned she envisioned announcing their growing family with horses on a ranch, and I knew just the spot: my friend Ben’s place, “Ralph’s Ranch” nestled just outside of OKC.

When we arrived, the afternoon sun dipped low and painted everything in a warm, honeyed light. The horses came to us eager for treats, but even when the snacks ran out, they stayed close. Calm and curious, nudging Emily’s belly, sensing the energy growing inside her. (I’m so obsessed with the intuitive nature of horses). And even though Em was barely showing, there was this quiet magic in the way she carried herself and the way Brandon was so attentive to her — both so graceful, protective, and intentional.

Time slipped away from us and we kept shooting long past the session time, but it’s hard to stop when it’s that good! And because this felt like more than just a photoshoot – it was a celebration!
